Three questions
Answered together.
Most new businesses that close never had the market, the location or the cash to begin with. A Groundwork study checks all three before you commit.
Is there demand?
We estimate how many businesses like yours your area can support, three independent ways, then check whether they agree.
Can your money hold?
We build a 36-month projection from your budget, staff and prices, and find the customers a day you need to break even.
Is this the right spot?
We compare locations by real drive times, nearby competitors and how far your customers will travel.
Probability, not promises
See your odds before you open.
No one can promise a business will work. What we can do is show you the odds. Your study reports the chance of covering your monthly costs by month 12, 18 and 24, the chance your cash runs out first, and the starting odds for your industry from federal data.
Then it names the few numbers that would change the answer, and what to do about each one.

Built on public data
Checked like it matters.
U.S. Census Bureau. Bureau of Labor Statistics. IRS. Every number in your report shows where it came from and what year.
Our model draws on the published research of 13 universities and nearly a century of retail-location science, from gravity models to modern simulation. Before any formula went into use, we tested it against published results. If ours didn’t match, we didn’t use it.

Common questions about feasibility studies
What is a feasibility study for a small business?
It answers one question before you commit money: can this business work, here, with your plan? A Groundwork study measures demand in your area three independent ways, counts your competition, compares your locations, builds a 36-month projection from your own budget, and runs 10,000 simulated futures to give you the odds of breaking even and the odds of running out of cash first.
Is this a guarantee?
No one can promise a business will work. We show you the odds, the numbers that drive them, and the conditions that would move them in your favor.
What if the answer is no?
Then the study did its job, before you signed a lease or a loan. A no comes with the reasons, and often with what would have to change for the answer to become yes.
What do I need to give you?
About 20 minutes of answers: what you will sell and at what prices, your startup budget and the money you have, staff and pay, hours, and the town or addresses you are considering. If you do not know a number, we use a published benchmark and label it.
How is this different from free market research?
Free research gives you data. A Groundwork study gives you an answer, the odds behind it, and the few numbers that would change it.
Can I show it to a lender or a partner?
Yes. Every number shows where it came from and what year. It is not an appraisal or a loan decision.
How long does a feasibility study take?
A Groundwork study is delivered in 1 to 3 business days after we receive your information.
Which study do I need?
Not sure the town can carry your business: the Market Feasibility Study. Sure of the town, choosing between properties: the Site Selection Analysis. Both questions open: the Complete study.
Can you study a town outside Arkansas?
Yes. The data covers every state and county in the country.
